Vernal Pool Exploration

Come join DNRT and the Buzzards Bay Coalition on Saturday, April 8 at 10 am for a vernal pool exploration at Parsons Reserve. Staff from DNRT and the Buzzards Bay Coalition will lead you on a hike through the reserve to a large vernal pool, where you will get a chance to see some of its interesting inhabitants up close and personal. As a bonus, the hike will wind past the reserve’s popular daffodil field, where thousands of daffodils bloom each spring. Be prepared for moderate walking on uneven terrain, rain or shine and the walk will last approximately two hours.
Full Moon Walk

Join DNRT for a Full Moon Walk at Slocum’s River Reserve on Wednesday, May 10 at 7:30 pm and explore the evening landscape.
The Slocum’s River Reserve includes mature woodlands, agricultural fields, and pastures that slope down to the western bank of the Slocum’s River. The Reserve has two miles of walking trails and is jointly owned and managed by the Trustees of Reservations and Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust.
The walk will last approximately an hour and please bring a flashlight or headlamp to help navigate the trails as the moon rises and sun sets. Usually only the worst weather will cancel a DNRT walk. Join Nancy Mahoney from The Canine Club, and members of the Dartmouth Dog Advisory Work Group (DDAWG), for a dog walk at Destruction Brook Woods on Saturday, May 13 at 9 am to learn more about dog handling tips while walking your dog outdoors. This walk is in partnership with DDAWG, the Buzzards Bay Coalition and The Trustees of Reservation to promote a positive dog walking experience for dogs, people and wildlife.
The 280-acre Destruction Brook Woods Reserve includes miles of walking trails, mature woodlands that include American Beech and Atlantic White Cedar, unusual rock formations and Destruction Brook itself which once powered the historic mills of Russells Mills.
