Date: Saturday, March 11, 2017 (Rain date: Saturday, March 25, 2017)
Time: 11:00 am
Location: Mishaum Point
Leader(s): DNRT and Mark Mello from The Lloyd Center
Join DNRT and Mark Mello from The Lloyd Center for our popular annual late-winter walk from Salter’s Point to Mishaum Point on Saturday, March 11 at 11 am. We will look for wintering waterfowl and hope to see seals of the shoreline (last year we saw seals).
The walk is free, but registration is required and limited to 60 people. Please register by calling DNRT at 508-991-2289 no later than Thurdsay, March 9. (Because this walk typically “sells out,” please register as soon as possible- and if you do register, but subsequently cannot attend the walk, please let us know so that we can include others who do wish to attend). We will tell you where you are meeting when you call to register.
Walkers should wear sturdy shoes, dress appropriately for the day’s weather (the wind off the bay can be very cold, even when sunny), and be prepared for a walk of about 3 miles. The walk usually lasts about 2-3 hours depending on the weather and what we see out at Mishaum Point. No pets, please.
Usually only the worst weather will cancel a DNRT walk. If the weather is questionable, call 508-525-9266 or check dnrt.org on the morning of the walk. For directions or further information, call DNRT at 508-991-2289 or visit dnrt.org.
