We are hosting renowned author and speaker, Robin Wall Kimmerer to discuss themes from her book The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World.
Dr. Kimmerer will give a talk highlighting the importance of local food systems. She will also sign books afterwards – bring your own copy or purchase a copy at the event! Light bites and wine will be served.
The goal of this event is to raise awareness around the importance of supporting and preserving local farm economies and local food systems. Any proceeds from the event will support Coastal Foodshed’s work to build a stronger, more resilient, and more equitable local food system.
About Robin Wall Kimmerer
Ms. Kimmerer is a SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor of Environmental Biology, and the founder and director of the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment, whose mission is to create programs which draw on the wisdom of both indigenous and scientific knowledge for our shared goals of sustainability. In 2022 she was named a MacArthur Fellow. Ms. Kimmerer is also an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
