2026 is the Year of the Horse! Paint your own horseshoe, available for pickup at DNRT!
Your horseshoe and others will be displayed on DNRT trails for one month in celebration of the Year of the Horse. Finding the horseshoes will be part of a scavenger hunt for trail users during February and March.
Grab a horseshoe and get painting! Pick up an unpainted horseshoes at the DNRT office at Helfand Farm at 318 Chase Road. We recommend acrylic paints. Get creative! Open to both children and adults. We ask that you include a few sentences with the a name and description of your horse who lost his shoe!
Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 judged horseshoes. Many thanks to Servedwell Hospitality for donating prizes.
Horseshoes are to be submitted to DNRT by January 31, 2026.
We have a limited number of horseshoes, so if you you take one home, we are expecting you will bring it back, painted and ready to be hung on the trails!
