July News from Land Management

Even though our Land Management department is not currently hosting any work parties, we are still very busy on the trails. During the summer we hire Seasonal Field Technicians to take care of all the trail maintenance necessary to keep our properties accessible to the public. This typically includes weed whacking, hedge trimming, mowing, picking up trash, and an odd assortment of other tasks that arise. The seasonal position is integral to keeping up with all 42 miles of trail we maintain.

This season Paige Durant is returning to the position for her second year. Even before her work last season, Paige had been supportive of DNRT through her efforts at cleanups and her Girl Scout Project which led to the construction of a lovely bench in Greer’s Garden. This season Paige has been a huge help at DNRT, not only in maintaining the trails, but also caring for all our reserves, assisting in integral management of documents, and willing to provide support in anything that comes up. We are thankful to have Paige back this year and if you see her on the trails make sure to say hello!
