DNRT Center at Helfand Farm

The Bristol County Mosquito Control Project monitors and reduces mosquito populations in the county through surveillance, water management, biological and chemical controls. Information will be provided on the mosquito’s life cycle, habitat, West Nile virus, EEE and other mosquito borne illnesses. Control measures and guidance on how to prevent mosquito bites and breeding around your property will be discussed. Light refreshments will be served.

Presenter Priscilla Matton has a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Rhode Island and worked at the URI Tick Research Laboratory and studied Lyme disease. M.S. from Rutgers University in Entomology with an emphasis on medical entomology. She has been with the Bristol County Mosquito Control Project since 2005, first as the entomologist and currently the Superintendent.
